Weeknight Skate Session & Pau Hana @ Magic Island
Details
All wheels and skill levels welcome!
Skateboards, surf skates, longboards, roller blades, roller skates, penny boards, unicycles and one wheels are just some of the things you will see on Tuesday nights at Magic Island. Whether you know how to skate or you are looking to learn, we have a very inclusive group of skaters to skate with and learn from. Cruise around or try to learn a trick or two!
No board? No problem! Plenty of people bring extra boards so beginners can try out skating before committing to buying a board. You will be able to try a variety of boards (mostly skateboards, longboards and carvers) to help you learn what you like.
People usually start arriving around 7-8pm, skate around the park, and stay until the park closes at 10pm. The last hour is mainly spent socializing (pictured above). Feel free to bring your beverages and snacks of choice! Frequent topics of discussion include surfing, skating, music and current events. We have a pretty diverse set of attendees, so you should be able to find someone to vibe with. We have a shared Spotify playlist that you can add music to as well!
The organizers have more than a decade each of experience on skateboards. Plenty of attendees rode a board for the first time at skate night, so do not feel intimidated! Members have gone from no skills at all to learning tricks on the board.
There are a few groups that meet at Magic Island. We are usually posted up on the benches near the trash cans on the beach side at the end of Magic Island parking lot.
What to bring:
- Something with wheels (if you have one)
- A snack or drink
- Good vibes
Don't be discouraged by low RSVP totals! Most people in the group that have been going for awhile just show up without RSVPing. We usually have at least 10 people show up.
Every week on Tuesday
