The group has been here previously and really enjoyed the restaurant unfortunately I was unable to attend so that is why I decided to book it for the groups holiday brunch this year!

Previously BJ shared a great description and story about the restaurant so I will share again just in case you missed out too.

The restaurant began life as a real carriage house in the early 1840’s. In the 19th century, following the civil war, captain John Roper, purchased it, and then accompanying a mansion. The mansion face Freemason Street, and was demolished in 1930. Eventually, Mr. Roper‘s granddaughter turned the carriage house into a tea room with a growing reputation of good friendship and good food in a quaint setting, and was frequented by celebrities and artist of the time. In 1974 new owners turned it into a nice spot. In 1978 subsequent owner renamed it the carriage house and after renovation it once again serve the original fare along with beef and seafood. Then in 1998 two owners Laiter, Omar Boukhriss purchased what was then called Maude’s house and restored its name and traditions.
