Return to Bullfrog Lake for a hike, about 4 - 5 miles, Unpaved, Natural Surfaces
Details
This time we'll avoid that small trail extending north from the parking lot we have taken in the past. Rather, walk in the lot toward Camp Bullfrog Lake until you get to the Blue Trail and go north. Follow it to the Orange Trail, walking north of Tomahawk Slough, past the Green Trail, and all the way to the Wolf Road parking lot where we frequently park. Then, return on the Orange trail but make a right on the Green Trail, taking it to the Blue Trail and the parking lot. We'll try to get 4 to 5 miles in before returning to the parking lot.
The weather on Tuesday is projected to be in the mid-20s, dry and partially cloudy. Colder than I'd like, but otherwise nice weather for a hike.
We'll start at the Bullfrog Lake parking lot, the first lot after you enter, and head north on the Blue Trail. We'll continue the loop around on other colors for a total of 5 miles or so. These trails are marked as challenging and unpaved, so this hike is not recommended for beginners. We don't hike especially fast but there are a lot of turns so you'll need to keep up or we might lose you. There may be mountain bikes to watch out for. Dress for the weather.
