Please join us for our annual Mulled wine walk in the lead up to Christmas 2024.
Approx. 7 mile Leisurely circular walk from The Lock Inn Cafe (B-O-A), via Avoncliff, Freshford, Iford and maybe Farleigh Castle before getting to Westwood...
** Can't guarantee all pubs will be serving Mulled Wine, but they usually do!

This is a repeat of previous Christmas outings, where we met up early for breakfast at The Lock Inn Café, which we will do again this year from 09.30...

Attendees need to wear suitable walking boots/shoes and have appropriate clothing depending on weather conditions, along with sufficient food and drink for the length of walk.

The Walk
This is a circular walk. Departing The Lock Inn we head to the pubs... For planned stops to sample a winter warming Mulled wine/cider... then back to B-O-A and The Lock Inn Cafe for the debrief!

I've allowed approx 4 to 5 hours for the walk as listed as a Leisurely Christmas walk, and to include taking in the Mulled Wine breaks..... followed by the slow walk back!

*** Obviously non alcoholic drinks, including hot drinks are available, but please remember the plan is to stop 3 times!

Dogs
Dogs are allowed with well behaved owners who are on a lead!

Weather: Please check the weather before leaving home and come appropriately prepared.

The debrief: This will be at The Lock Inn Cafe, B-O-A.

Parking - Baileys Barn BA15 1BX.
Free parking in a housing estate approx. 200mtrs south along the canal, just before the Canal and River Trust car park which charges! (You have to drive nearly out of B-O-A direction Sainsbury's before coming back parallel to the canal along Baileys Barn. Please respect the residents when parking outside their houses.)

Suitable footwear and clothing is your responsibility, and although the host reserves the right to refuse you to start the walk, you cannot hold the host responsible for injuries you could sustain from your choice of clothing.
Livestock to include Cows, sheep and horses may be in the fields that the Public Footpath or Permitted right of way cross's, and although the public have a right to cross the land, the group and walk host cannot be held responsible for how wild animals may react and you should not approach livestock whilst crossing these fields. You are responsible for closing ALL gates behind you, especially where Livestock are present.
If dogs are allowed on a walk, they should be kept on a lead and you are responsible for lifting your dog over stiles if there are no dog access points. You are responsible for your transport to and from the meeting place and if you choose to lift share it is your decision.
