What we’re about
Get outside and see what's there! Come inside and listen to one of our monthly speakers! Meet other local birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts on Florida's Space Coast (Brevard County area). This meetup is for all those who appreciate Florida's amazing biodiversity and are interested in its conservation. Our group 's primary season is October to May during which we host monthly meetings with informative speakers. During our season we also offer multiple field trips each month that offer bird watching, wildlife viewing, plant and butterfly spotting, and opportunities for photography--all age groups and skill levels welcome. . We'd like to encourage impromptu meetups for special sightings or bird counts. For more information visit our website at www.spacecoastaudubon.org. Our Chapter is part of the national Audubon organization and a portion of the funding for our programs comes from individual memberships to Audubon.

The lovely green spaces and beaches in Florida continue to attract an increasing number of visitors and new residents. Significant growth can bring additional challenges when conservation and development intersect.
Heather Elko (Audubon Board Member, conservation committee) and Bill Fisk (Space Coast Audubon Chapter President) have been actively involved in local advocacy issues. They will share insights about local issues including Lori Wilson park and State Park property use proposed changes. The group will learn about the impact of citizens being present in public hearings concerning local conservation priorities.
Space Coast Audubon visits many of the local natural spaces on our field trips. Bill and Heather will share highlight some of the hotspots being featured in the Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival.
