What we’re about

"SPACE STUDIES" is a Lecture Series organized by architecture firm itaru/taku/COL. revolving around architecture and urban design.
The two founders of the studio who has taught at Tokyo Metropolitan University (currently Tokyo Metropolitan University), Shizuoka Institute of Cultural and Arts, and Keio University, will deliver lectures on a variety of topics including future livings in Japan, contemporary commercial architecture, history of Tokyo urban spaces, etc., intertwining academic topics and everyday topics for everyone to enjoy.
We are also planning to invite other lecturers and host tour trips depending on the theme.

The lecture series is intended for those interested in architecture but have no place to learn; those who want to build a house and is looking for something outside the box, those who want to learn about the historic development of architecture and cities in Japan, and even those who are on vacation and want to learn about their upcoming destination. It is a lecture where everyday topics and academic aspects of architecture can be learned simultaneously.

The event will be held mainly at Gazebo, a masterpiece designed by architect Riken Yamamoto, who has been awarded the Pritzker Prize in 2024.
