Buddhist Meditation Class - Topic: Share your happiness with acts of kindness

Details

Current Series: The How of Happiness
Tonight’s topic: Share your happiness with acts of kindness

We are creatures of habit. What are the habits that create happiness? Our thoughts and attitudes create all of our experiences. If we want to take control of our life and find the happiness we long for, we must learn how to control our mind. Using meditation and Buddhist wisdom to train our mind, we can reduce negative thinking and learn to think in ways that produce a positive, peaceful outlook. We can respond to daily challenges in a more constructive fashion, improve our relationships and make our life truly meaningful. We gain incredible confidence knowing we know HOW to move forward for a happier life. Everyone welcome!

Class Dates and Topics:
November 11: Happiness and inner peace
November 18: How to meditate on the nature of the mind
November 25: NO CLASS - THANKSGIVING BREAK
December 2: Love, gratitude, and letting go
December 9: Share your happiness with acts of kindness
December 16: Freedom from frustration and irritation
December 23 & 30: NO CLASS - HOLIDAY BREAK

General Information:
Our weekly meetings are on a drop in basis, and we have a really nice group of people attending regularly. A trademark of the meditations we emphasize is the ease in which they can be used both “on the cushion” and in our daily lives. Each meeting will include practical, guided meditation, and a talk on how to reduce stress and other problems encountered in daily life, and how to increase mental and physical well-being. There will also be plenty of time to discuss the ideas presented.

Although the meditations and talks are based on Kadampa Buddhist philosophy, you don't need to be a Buddhist to enjoy this group. Kadampa Buddhism stresses a spiritual path of individual transformation and to look within ourselves for the inner peace and happiness we seek. Everyone is welcome. We hope to see you soon!

$10 per person. Drop-ins welcome
