After Work Tennis 3.0+

Details

** To new players, instant messaging thread for this group is on signal app

If the link above isn’t working you need to install Signal App: signal.org/install

Please use the thread above to sync arrival time with other players, to pair up for adhoc matches. The days we don’t have meetup event we play adhoc, texting on Signal App Tennis thread.
The Signal app thread is used to organize sports / recreational / social activities that members are interested in as well. However, we have multiple threads based on members interests, more details on Bay Area Tennis Logistics.

Folks who are on north side peninsula / closer to SF / wanna play earlier please try joinign our Cañada College events instead!

Please grab a court if you arrive earlier and text on thread above (on Signal App) so we know which court you are in. Let's decompress! :)

Waiting for Courts
For 8 players,
First two players each should grab a court (total 2 courts). If only one court is available, first player should grab the first court. Second and rest of the players should wait outside the door for another court. Once 2 courts are secured incoming players should join both courts (in even distribution).

Please don't start playing without securing courts first. Please take your time to divide players (with assistance of the hosts) into courts after enough courts are secured and then, to start rally or to play doubles/singles.

Mixing Up Players

  • It’s good idea for both courts to start a set / games at the same time to be able to mix up players after the set is finished.
  • Mix ups are suggested to match up level wise after assessing new players. Most times, it’s random mix ups, so never take it personal!

Rotation
Sometimes, rotations are inevitable.

  • If one court is rotating other court that is not rotating should shorten the set. Otherwise it’s not fair.
  • Waiting players should be evenly split among multiple courts.

Max players# 8, with 4 players on each court (no rotation).

Wait List Policy
Players from wait list are moved to our event at Cañada College.
When Cañada College event is full, players from wait list should join here at 8pm (court has lights). However, if we have enough courts available earlier, we will give you heads up on Signal App Tennis Thread so that you can join earlier; please keep an eye on Signal App!

  • Players with not so good standing history will be moved to wait list when it gets crowdy! *
  • If it’s busy and players with higher ranks RSVP some less players will be moved to wait list! Women are ranked slightly differently.*
  • Last day RSVP withdrawals are considered as no-shows!
  • If you are looking to play earlier for example, from 5pm or 6pm consider joining our event at Cañada College!
  • If that’s not possible please text on the thread. When you text to play earlier make sure to include only players who RSVP’d for the event. On the other days, when we don’t meetup events you are welcome to text and play adhoc with anybody (no RSVP restriction)!

Good standing history / reputation

  • No no-show history: please avoid no-shows unless there's an emergency!
  • Never bypassed wait list, or cleared penalty for bypassing wait list.

Bypassing wait list incurs penalty. To clear the penalty you have to play once at our Cañada College events. Once you have done that penalty is cleared and you’re welcome back to 3.0+ events!

If you cannot make it, please update your RSVP to "Not going" at least one day ahead of the event. Individuals who mark "Yes" to avoid no-show penalties!

Please bring a fresh can of ball. // Players who never bring new can of balls will be removed.

Restroom: on the corner behind court#1.
Lights: Please keep an eye on the lights and press the button when it flashes. Otherwise, lights will turn off and you will have to wait about 15 minutes for them to turn back on.

Parking: there is plenty of parking around the tennis court.
Lost & Found: there's no lost and found section for the tennis courts. We are not responsible for your belongings if you forget and leave them on courts. Please text on tennis thread to inquire if you lost anything.

* City / P&R and the hosts are not responsible for any injury!
