We are a peer support gathering of autistic ciswomen, transwomen, and non-binary people! Our group centers on expressions and experiences of being a woman on the spectrum. This is our monthly discussion group. You are welcome to log on at any time during the meeting.

**Intention:**
Our focus is empowerment! We share about our personal stories and discuss whatever topics are of interest to us. Topics often circle back around to autism and women's lived experiences. This meeting aims to be a safe space.
**Format of meetings:**

1. We start the meeting off with check-in's for everyone who would like to share (no obligation to). During this check-in time, we can introduce ourselves and/or something that is on our minds that we might like to discuss in group. We take turns and are careful not to speak at length. Some people are more reserved than others; we want everyone to have room and time to share if they'd like!
2. After check-ins and throughout the meeting, we typically have a more free form discussion. Anyone is free to talk at length about their lives, autism, conversations/topics from past meetings that they would like to expand on, etc. There is no set-topic, we just ask that everyone remain respectful and thoughtful of others time and interest.
3. Around mid-meeting we typically take a short bio-break if needed. You can use this time to attend to something else, or just re-center yourself before coming back to the group.
4. After break, we will make space for anyone who felt they didn't have a chance to talk. This is also a good opportunity to change the main discussion topic to something new for the remainder of the meeting.

**GROUP AGREEMENTS/GUIDELINES:**
We ask that everyone who attends be mindful and considerate of these guidelines. We all share the responsibility of co-creating, implementing, sustaining, and adjusting our agreements to the benefit of our group.
**Intentions Behind Our Agreements:**
+We offer a place where we can speak and be listened to with empathy.
+We are committed to healing, growing, and learning within these gatherings.
+We value the human dignity of all people.
**Discussion Guidelines:**

1. *Peers*

We are a peer-to-peer group. We do our best to suggest resources and referrals for issues that are beyond what the group can provide.
2. *Confidentiality*

We ask that all members of our group please be respectful of what others share and not discuss identifying aspects of the conversation outside of group.
3. *Safety*

Although unlikely to happen, some group members are mandated reporters and will report any suspected abuse/neglect/intention to harm vulnerable populations, if something comes up in discussion that is a clear concern to us.
Additionally, it needs to be stated clearly that this is *not* a "dating" group. Members of this group come to this space to be open and vulnerable and to connect in mutual respect. Anyone may be asked to leave at any time or not return if they make members uncomfortable.
Considering the topics typically discussed, this group is geared towards adults of all ages.
4. *Breaks*

We take one or more breaks throughout the meeting. If at any point a member feels that they need a break from a subject being discussed, they have a right to either request the subject be paused or step out. We want all our members to feel safe and heard, and this includes having the freedom to tell us when they don’t.
5. *Questions/Concerns*

If you ever have questions or concerns about this group, please bring them up at the discussion, mention them to Brittanie (the facilitator/host), or contact Zack (the organizer of Square Pegs).
