Las Trampas, Spanish for The Trap, has two ridges: Rocky Ridge and Las Trampas Ridge. The east side of each ridge is covered with scenic oak groves and meadows. During the summer, the Bigleaf maples blend in with the oak woodlands and California Bay Laurels; but during the fall, they stand out adding a splash of yellow hues to the already magnificent evergreen woodlands. Let’s go off the beaten track to Corduroy Hills for its serenity and beauty.

**Bring** water, snack, poles, and your beloved dog.

**Meet** 9:20am at Hap MaGee Ranch Park in front of the dog park, adjacent to children’s play structure and restroom (drive all the way to the innermost parking lot). Address 1025 La Gonda Way, Alamo. Free parking aplenty.

**Route**: 6.6 pleasant miles, 1,204 feet elevation gain, 2 miles on Iron Horse trail and residential sidewalk, 4.6 miles in evergreen woodland sprinkled with stunning Bigleaf Maples.
