"Properties of Thirst" by Marianne Wiggins
Details
Let's close out our first year of book club by reading "Properties of Thirst" by Marianne Wiggins. This is "a poignant and powerful novel that will resonate deeply with readers who appreciate historical fiction, family sagas, and stories of love, loss, and resilience, particularly those interested in the lesser-known but crucial chapter of American history surrounding Japanese internment during WWII." [Storygraph]
We will meet for tea at Elixir Tea House. Elixir is happy to accommodate larger groups, however they have a relatively small kitchen AND brew all their tea from scratch, so they kindly request our patience as they make everything to order.
I ask that everybody finish reading the book before the gathering - it makes for richer discussion! Please keep your RSVP updated 48 hours prior to the meetup so I can plan accordingly with the venue. No shows or late cancellations will be removed from the group; message me privately if you have a legitimate reason for this, and I'll reconsider.
