Fourth Session: St Albans Silent Book Club!

~Apologies for the short notice, but I have just been informed that we can use the venue FOC this weekend! Please join if you can, ideally with RSVP, but if you find yourself unexpectedly free for a couple of hours on Sunday then don't hesitate to drop by even at the last minute (as long as it doesn't look like we are significantly overbooked on the app but usually this would not be the case :D - please check the homepage!) You will always be warmly welcomed!~

Date: Sunday 17th November 2024
Time: 1.50pm to 3.50pm (reading time starts just after 2pm!)
Venue: The Box Cinema at The Hub on Verulam (please pick up a drink from the bar on the way in to support the local business - please note that there is no wait service and it is self-service)

As a new group finding our feet, I managed to negotiate a new space for us to try out as it will hopefully be much quieter and more relaxing than the other space we have been using. Hopefully this space could form one of the regular spaces at our disposal in the future, pending their availability.
This meetup is free to join, and we have been kindly given the space to use for free of charge, but we will need to purchase at least one drink to support them, please.
We will wait until a few minutes after our start time inside The Hub on Verulam near the bar area so that we can all order our drinks and head into the room together, but if you are running late and don't spot us then please come through to the reception/bar and ask for 'The Box' or 'Silent Book Club' located upstairs :)
Bring any book/e-book/audiobook of your choice - there is no assigned reading and no deadlines!
Come join like-minded readers in a public space and feel motivated to start, continue or finish that read!
At the start and at the end of the session we spend a few minutes chatting and sharing with one another about our book, but even then, there is absolutely no pressure or obligation to do so. You may even find some helpful recommendations of a genre you had never previously considered.
Above all, this is a free, low-key, low-commitment book club so please drop in whenever you can!
Looking forward to reading together in companionable silence in a comfortable space!
