What we’re about

If the words ‘junk journaling’, ‘washi tapes’, ‘sticker flakes’, ‘ephemera’, ‘Tomoe River S paper’, ‘The Pen Addict’, and ‘Stationery Café’ mean anything to you, then please read on! I am looking to set up a local Hertfordshire stationery meet-up to share my humble enthusiasm with like-minded new friends!
WHY DO THIS? I am particularly inspired by the proliferation of stationery / journal clubs that occur in Asia and the USA, and believe that there is no reason why we could not attempt to re-create our own as well. I am hopeful that a few of us might be able to get together on a regular basis to explore the rabbit hole of analogue tools, creative journalling and planning, or simply doodling and dabbling as fellow hobbyists (actual creative professionals with lots of patience would be warmly welcomed of course!). Another bonus from these meet-ups would also be to make new memories and share screen-free moments away from our busy and full-on daily lives. These meet-ups would also be an incredibly fun way to share our ideas and even our stationery items with one another if that was something people were keen to do. Granted, it is very easy to get into the stationery hobby online and there are innumerable resources such as blogs, podcasts, YouTube videos and Reddit threads at the ready, but I do miss the face-to-face sharing IRL in a low-key, no-fuss, no-obligation environment!
WHERE AND WHEN TO MEET? If this sounds like something you would be keen to get involved in, please join the group! I am in the St Albans (Hertfordshire) area, and have identified the local St Albans Museum and Gallery courtroom café as an ideal venue we could use for a couple of hours at least twice a month: usually every second Saturday and fourth Sunday of the month (at the time of writing!). This is always subject to review as the group continues to grow and evolve! It's never too late to join in so please do come along to the next meet-up!
Thank you for reading, Jasmin :)
