The Star-Spangled Banner Flag House is a National Historic Landmark and historic house museum in Baltimore, Maryland. The Museum preserves the historic 1793 structure and interprets the life of Mary Young Pickersgill, a nineteenth-century female entrepreneur and the craftswoman of the flag which flew over Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore and inspired Francis Scott Key to pen the poem which became the National Anthem in 1931.

At the Flag House, you’ll encounter the historic house furnished to an approximate 1813 appearance, learn about the women in Mary’s household that helped craft the most famous flag to ever fly, and discover how the historic house has acted as a cornerstone of the Jonestown community for more than 220 years.
