"Qigong Movement for Autumn: Boost Your Immune System"

Details

Join Terri in a tranquil Qigong movement practice specifically designed for Autumn. We will purge and “let go” of stagnant energy in the body, boost our immune systems, support our lung health, and increase our overall vitality and well-being for the Fall season.

Our class will include:

- Qigong Warm-ups to open our joints for optimal Qi flow ("life force energy")
- Standing Meditation to set our healing intentions for our practice
- Positive Affirmations to align ourselves with a beneficial mindset
- "Pai Da" or "Body Tapping" on acupressure points to increase circulation and boost our immunity
- Gentle Qigong Flowing Movements to stimulate and strengthen our "Lung Meridian"

More About Qigong and the Autumn Season:

The Autumn Equinox marks the beginning of the full descent of Yin. Now the days become shorter and nights become longer. This rapid change in temperature, light, and atmosphere has a profound effect on our biology and psychology. By adjusting your lifestyle and attuning your energy to the season through Qigong, you can flow through this transition and enjoy its blessings.

The blessing of Autumn is that it supports our ability to "let go." Therefore, this is an optimal time to release accumulated emotions, forgive old grudges, clear out what you don't need, calm the mind and gather your spirit. Qigong Flows for Autumn focus on the lungs, large intestines, breathing exercises, the immune system and cultivating the courage to live in the present moment (Autumn Excerpt from my Master Teacher, Marisa Cranfill)

More About Qigong Practice:

Qigong, pronounced “chi gong,” was developed in China thousands of years ago as part of traditional Chinese medicine. It involves using exercises to optimize energy within the body, mind, and spirit, with the goal of improving and maintaining physical, mental, and emotional health. Breathing is slow, long, and deep, and movements are gentle and smooth, aimed for relaxation. No previous experience is required, and movements can be modified for the individual participant.
