Guided informative ranger led hikes about the historic San Diego Flume trail each 3rd Saturday, September - December at El Monte County Park

At 8:00 am
September 21st – 1 mile hike to cape horn west tunnel
October 19th– 2 mile hike to cape horn east tunnel and towards reservoir
November 16th– 3 mile hike up switchbacks to blossom valley
December 21st – 6 miles on the flume trail to helix stagging lot
Where
El Monte County Park, 15805 EL Monte Road, Lakeside, CA.
Park in the staging lot, a dirt lot across the street from the park, this lot opens at 7:30 am. We will meet here and then head to the trail.
What
September 21st – 1 mile hike to Cape Horn West tunnel, moderate up switchbacks and down to the tunnel, appropriate for all ages.
October 19th– 2 miles hike to Cape Horn East tunnel and towards Reservoir, moderate up switch backs and down to the tunnel, flat out to the end of trail, appropriate for all ages.
November 16th– 3 miles hike up switchbacks to Blossom Valley, moderate-challenging, this may be difficult or frequent breaks may be needed.
December 21st– 6 miles on the flume trail to Helix Stagging lot, moderate-challenging, mostly flat.
