Board Game Day in Kecksburg Canceled until further notice
Details
We can have some folks come out to enjoy a nice breakfast and then get some gaming in. Had a good time at the previous Game Days in Kecksburg. This is a monthly meetup for Steel City Gamers. Don't worry about not being able to attend each month, we just ask that you RSVP so that we can give KVFD an idea on how many folks to expect for food.
It all starts with the KVFD's "All You Can Eat Breakfast" that actually runs from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. The price is 7.00 a person and it is literally all you can eat during that time. The menu is as follows: Biscuts and sausage gravy, regular pancakes, buckwheat pancakes, orange pancakes, seasoned potatoes, sausage, ham, bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit cocktail, toast (you toast the bread in our toaster), regular & decaf coffee, juices (grape, apple, and orange). The whole idea is that you arrive around 12 noon (or earlier if you wish) and be able to have breakfast/brunch before we get to start gaming.
Once we get some of the tables cleaned off, the gaming can begin. Being one of the firemen, I will have to help get some stuff cleaned up, and then get to join you (though we usually start to get things cleaned up that can be even before the end time of 1 PM). After the firemen finish with cleaning up, we will move up toward the kitchen end of the hall, so that some of the lights can be turned off and save on electricity use.
We are on our own for figuring out what to do for dinner. There has not been enough business in the kitchen for the Fire Dept. to keep it open on Sundays. If this would change, I will post an apdate. As far as beverages, there can be no alcoholic beverages brought as any of those have to be purchased through our club as that is how the Fire Departments liquor license is set up. We could bring other non alcoholic beverages to have during the afternoon. I should be able to get some ice and cups for us to use.
I have many games that I can bring with me for us to use. Some of them are, Flash Point (up to 6 players), Pandemic (4 players), Trains & Stations (up to 5 players), Axis and Allies (up to 5 players), Railways of the World (up to 6 players), and Memoir 44 (2 players or up to 6 players as teams), Fortune and Glory (up to 8 players). If there is something that you would like to play but do not have a copy to bring, be sure to post a note and we will see if there is a way to make it happen. Also, Starwolf has a rather large library of board games, so he may bring different games each time he is able to attend. If there is a game of his that you would like him to bring that we have played in the past, be sure to post a note and ask him to. Also, any one else attending should feel free to bring a game(s) of their own to see if those present may want to play it.
As this is a monthly event, I will be sure to post if the fire department would not be having the breakfast for some reason. Granted that when Winter sets in, there may be a few months that we would not get to do this as I would not want you folks to have to try and make it here in bad weather/driving conditions.
Every 1st Sunday of the month
