Steel City Swing | Beginner Lesson & Social Dance

Grab your friends and get ready for another month of dancing with Steel City Swing!

We'll be hitting the dance floor every WEDNESDAY this month at the Levite Jewish Community Center. We'll start off with a lesson and then end with some social dancing. No experience or partner required (we rotate partners during the lesson to help you learn).

NOTE: Due to increased security measures at the LJCC, a picture ID is required to check in at the Welcome Center.

As a reminder, for the safety of our at risk staff and the Birmingham community, we are implementing the following Covid Policies at our events for the time being:

- BE KIND: Masking is encouraged at our events. Be respectful of other's comfort levels on dancing with non-masked dancers. Consider having a mask on hand so that you can dance with those who aren't comfortable dancing with non-masked dancers!

- BE CLEAN: We highly recommend washing your hands before the event and using hand sanitizer frequently throughout the event. Both options are readily and conveniently available at our venue.

- STAY SAFE: We highly recommend masking up if you are not up to date on your Covid vaccines. The latest Covid booster is now available for those who are able and interested! Staying up to date on your vaccines not only helps prevent you from becoming seriously ill or suffering effects of Long Covid, but it helps slow the spread of Covid-19 and helps protect the health of our staff and community.

- STAY HOME: If you aren't feeling well, stay home and come back when you're feeling better - even if it's just the sniffles or a cough! We will ask anyone who is visibly sick at our events to leave for the safety of our staff and dancers. We love you and want to dance with you, but dancing is not worth spreading disease to our dance community and we will be forced to cancel if enough of our limited staff gets sick. We will happily welcome you back when you're feeling better!
