What we’re about
A little social group to bring fellow crafters together to socialise and share their makes in a friendly and relaxed environment. We meet up every second Monday of the month at the Ivo Lounge in St Ives, 7-9pm. Everyone brings along a little something they’re working on, from knitting or crochet, to embroidery or sewing, to any art or craft – we’ve had people bring their watercolours or an iPad before – anything is welcome! And then we just chat, have a drink, sometimes grab some food, …and barely make any progress on our projects, but have a good time all the same. We get a mix of regulars, those who can only make the odd month, and some new faces each month. We are always helping each other out with our makes, and we’ve picked up many useful tips and tricks since starting this group. If you fancy giving a new craft a go, all you need to do is reach out, and one of us will be willing to help you at the social – namely with knitting, crochet, embroidery or sewing. A good starting point for beginners is buying a kit with all the instructions and materials needed, which gives you a nice little project to focus on whilst introducing you to the craft.
If you don’t fit into the “20s and 30s” age bracket, don’t worry! You are welcome whether you are 18/19 or 40 or over! It is just a general guidance to encourage younger crafters to socialise and network.
Please always RSVP in the event, particularly if you plan on attending, as we need to give the Ivo Lounge an advanced warning of the numbers and book the tables.
We’re a very relaxed group, and with many coming straight from work, people trickle in at the time that suits them, so don’t worry about what time you can turn up or whether you need to leave early – it will be nice to see you regardless!
And finally, if you haven’t joined our private FB group to keep up to date with the socials and connect with fellow crafters, then here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/capqPvoGgbe2niWm/
