What we’re about

Stitches with Friends is a new meetup for women in their 20’s and 30’s who enjoy knitting and crocheting and are looking to meet up with other women in the South Jersey area who enjoy the same. Please bring your works in progress for a relaxing morning of stitching and good conversation. Whether you are brand new to the world of knit and crochet, or have been stitching for years, we would love to see you there! Cross-stitchers and hand embroiderers/sewists are also welcome to attend—just please no sewing machines. All projects should be completable by hand.

This group aims to meet twice a month on Saturday mornings at a local BCLS or Camden County Library. Locations may vary based on weekly meeting room availability. Please check back each week for the exact location.

Tips for good conversation:
*Avoid talking about politics.
*Avoid talking too much about work troubles. Let’s make this a time to relax and forget about the frustrations of the work week.
*Don’t just talk about yourself. Try to show interest in other people.
*Make sure everyone has a chance to participate in the conversation if they would like to. Good conversation involves give and take from all parties involved.

All knitting supplies can be purchased at your local JoAnn Fabrics, or Michaels Craft Store. Look for a light-colored, worsted weight yarn (category 4) and US 7 or US 8 sized needles. The yarn you choose will have the weight and recommended needle size on the label. Please refer to this article on selecting a worsted weight yarn: https://sheepandstitch.com/library/what-is-worsted-weight-yarn-a-beginners-guide/
