Join us as we celebrate our special day of hiking. Our custom point to point route will take us from Kings Gap EEC to Pine Grove Furnace SP. Our adventure will include some exploring of Hammond’s Rocks, Lunch at Laurel Lake, and the Poole Steeple Vista.

This moderate to at times challenging hike will be about 11 miles in length with 1,500 feet of total elevation gain.

We will maintain a moderate pace. Please be sure of your capabilities before signing up. Although efforts are made to plan hikes while also considering trail conditions, always come prepared.

All participants must wear orange in accordance with PA Game Commission regulations.

After meeting at the Pine Grove Iron Works Trailhead Parking, we'll shuttle to the Kings Gap Mansion Parking Area. We'll begin our journey by taking in views of Cumberland Valley from the deck of the mansion. Once on the trails, we'll soon enter Michaux SF on our way towards Hammond's Rocks. There, let's take in some views and explore the various rock formations. We'll then head down the mountain, stopping at Laurel Lake for a lunch break. After lunch, let's make our way to Pole Steeple Vista to enjoy views of the area we just traversed. From there, we'll head back down on the Appalachian Trail, through a mature pine forest, and by Fuller Lake for our return.

Trails used include all or portions of Maple Hollow, Scenic Vista, Boundary, Buck Ridge, Hammy, Canyon, Vista, Poole Steeple, Appalachian National Scenic, Koppenhaver, and Old Railroad Bed.

Points of interest include the Kings Gap Mansion , Hammond's Rocks Laurel Lake, Pole Steeple Overlook, Mountain Creek, Hemlock Forest, and Fuller Lake.
