What we’re about
This Meetup is for everyone who lives in or visits Summit County Colorado. We are a group of active, fun loving people who enjoy all that Summit County has to offer. We have 200+ events a year, ranging from dance/lessons, concerts, happy hours, movies, and educational programs, to hiking, biking, downhill skiing, low-angle ski touring, snowshoeing, ice skating, kayaking, sailing, and festivals year-around. New ideas and activities are always welcome! We welcome all ages and ethnicities, whether you are a single or a couple. We just want to have FUN and SOCIALIZE!
We offer a 30 day free trial to all of our events, then require $10 annual dues to continue to receive event notices and participate. There are several member only annual parties where you more than recover the $10. We use your head and shoulders profile picture to welcome you and get to know you, so please make sure it clearly shows your face.

Summit County Social and Adventure Club Safety Practices:
1. The Meetup organizers and individual event organizers are not professional guides and has no responsibility for each participant’s safety, as everyone participates at their own risk. Any member not complying with club safety practices, does so at their own risk and may be at risk for loss of membership.
2. The club requires helmets to be worn during all biking and downhill ski events.
3. The club requires appropriate personal flotation devices to be worn during all water sports events.
4. Participants in backcounty, snowsports, wintersports, watersports, and biking events should assess the event conditions, distance, and elevation gain in advance, as only the individual participant can determine their fitness, appropriate gear, clothing, fluids, and nutritional needs. Every backcountry event participant should carry their own Ten Essentials https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Essentials.
5. If participants decide to leave a backcountry event early, they are required to notify the event organizer or sweep, and are strongly encouraged to return with a partner or volunteer.
6. If members bring guests to a club event, they must stay with and help their guest, if needed.
We hope to see you soon!
