Join us for an exciting afternoon of exploration at Myakka River State Park, one of Florida's oldest and largest state parks, offering a diverse range of activities and stunning natural beauty. Whether you're an avid hiker or looking for a peaceful escape, Myakka River State Park offers a perfect opportunity to connect with fellow Enthusiasts. Please note this event and our group is for 20s & 30s only.

Event Details:

  • Time: 11am - 1pm
  • Meeting Point: Myakka State Park - Fisherman's Circle , Sarasota, FL 34241 (Fisherman's Loop)

Agenda:

  • Meeting Time, 11am: Gather at the meeting point (Myakka State Park - 1 mile past the ranger station, look for a sign for Fisherman's Loop)
  • Leave for Trail, 11:15am: Please arrive before we leave!
  • Canopy Walkway and Observation Tower, 11:15am - 11:45am: Walk to the Boylston Nature Trail, explore the Canopy Walkway, and climb the Observation Tower. Enjoy panoramic views and take some time for photos.
  • William S. Boylston Nature Trail: 11:45am - 12:15am: A scenic 1-mile loop. This well-marked trail winds through a hardwood hammock, offering lush vegetation and the chance to spot wildlife such as birds and deer.
  • Myakka River from Park Drive Trail, 12:15pm - 1pm: This .9 mile trail offers a scenic route along the Myakka River starting from Park Drive in Myakka River State Park.

What to Bring: A small backpack, water, sunglasses, a hat, light clothes, hiking shoes, bug spray, snacks, sunscreen, binoculars.

What to Expect: Make new friends, scenic trails, wildlife sightings, birdwatching, treetop tower climb, rest areas, and alligators!

Restrooms: There is a restroom just past the ranger station near the entrance, however, there are none on the trails.

Note the Park Entry Fees! (purchasable upon entry)

  • $5 per vehicle (2-8 people)
  • $4 for a single occupant vehicle
  • $2 for pedestrians, bicyclists, and extra passengers
  • Annual Pass : $60 for individuals, $120 for families (good for all Florida state parks)
