Solstice Walk in Balboa Park

The Winter Solstice occurs at 1:19 AM on December 21st, so why not commemorate the occasion with a walk in long shadows through lovely Balboa Park on the first afternoon of the season? Sundown occurs at 4:47 pm on this day, so let's gather at 4 PM for an amble and chat in the twilight.

This walk is around 3 miles, along an easy route along chair-accessible sidewalks and NOT hiking trails. If it's chilly, please bring whatever accoutrements you need to be warm and comfortable.

We are meeting at the Sixth Avenue Playground in the redwoods at Sixth Ave & Spruce St. This is a 3.1 mile walk which we will endeavor to complete in a mere 90 minutes. See map pin.
