What we’re about
Welcome to Sunday Social Tennis. We are a SOCIAL tennis group, and have met consistently almost every Sunday for over 10 years. We play Round Robin mixed doubles. There are only a few pretty straightforward guidelines for play. When you arrive, you will be matched with a partner for the first set. We play standard games with ad scoring. At the end of 30 minutes of play, I will blow the whistle. Whichever team is in the lead at that time is the winner. If there is a tie, you will play a tie breaker point. The winners will then move up one court toward court one. The team that does NOT win moves down one court toward court 4. The partners split up to play with the partners that rotate into that court. If there is one extra player, we will rotate in the one extra person on the last court. It there are 2 extra players we will take hearty volunteers to play a set of singles. If there are 3 extra player, the last court will play "Australian" tennis: 2 against one, rotating players every game. Whatever the configuration, it all changes after 30 minutes so that everyone gets to play as much as possible. The most important rule is to enjoy the game and the new friendships made. Many of us round out the afternoon with food at drink at Rumbas on the corner of Gulf to Bay and Keene Road. I hope you will join us for an afternoon of fun.
