What we’re about

Welcome to Sunny Coast Foodies.
This group was created with the view to trying out new and varied cuisines around the Sunshine Coast region for lunch, and dinner.
If you are a new arrival to the Coast and want to get to know the area or meet a new circle of friends – what better way than by trying out the region’s eateries and meeting fellow foodies. Whether you are male, female, single or a couple, our group may be for you, but we are not a ‘hook up’ group.
There is an expectation that all members will be respectful of each other, whether online or in person.

EVENTS
The goal is to accommodate all members who wish to attend a function; however, we need to work within the constraints of each venue by:

1.      The initial event booking will have a number limit agreed with the venue.
2.      Once this limit is reached, further RSVPs / bookings will be placed on the Waitlist and moved to Going on a first booked basis when either the venue agrees to increase the limit, or a Going booking is cancelled.
3.      If the Bond remains unpaid on a Going booking, it will be moved to Not Going. However, on payment, it may be reinstated if a vacancy is available.
4.      Where the venue permits, an effort will be made to book in tables of 6 to 8 to maximise social interaction.
5.      If possible, arrangements for individual bills to simplify meal payments will be organised.
6.      Each event will have a unique reference number.
Organisers have complete discretion to resolve any issues that may arise, and their decision is final.

Receipt AND ALLOCATION of PAYMENTS
It is the responsibility of every member to ensure any payments they make into the account (as detailed below) are noted with the payee’s name and the reason why it was made to allow the Organisers to allocate the payment to the correct payee.

THE BOND PAYMENT
A one off $20 “Bond” payment must be made before or immediately on booking your first event and will be retained by the group to ensure your ongoing commitment to attend events you book.

Forfeiture
Your bond will be forfeited to group finances to assist covering costs, if you cancel your booking less than 24 hours before an event or you do not attend an event.  That also applies in respect of any guest you may book for an event – they are your responsibility.  Another bond will need to be paid if you wish to book another event.
Refund of your bond On supply of your bank details, your bond will be refunded when you leave the group.

Event Payment
Every event has a $2 per person (including each guest) fee payable to help defray administration costs (including the Meetup subscription of approximately $400 per annum) and other incidentals.  Payment to be on the night and collected at the start of the event.
On occasions, a venue may require full payment on booking (e.g. Xmas, Melbourne Cup).  That will be included in the event information and your booking cannot be accepted until this payment is received.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
We require members’ full name and a contact telephone number.
Your full name allows us to identify your payments and provide you with a receipt.
Your phone number allows you to be contacted if you are on a Waitlist and a spot becomes available after close of the RSVP.  (The Meetup site is unlikely to contact you quickly enough to allow you to indicate if you are still wishing to attend).
Your details are STRICTLY confidential and are only accessed by the group organisers.  An organiser will take your details when you attend your first event.
DO NOT provide the info any other way as it may end up with a scammer.

SCAMMERS
Members are urged to be aware and report any unsolicited contact to the group Organisers. We will investigate, take the appropriate action as soon as possible.
