This is a 'discovery' walk, something I have not done before, where I haven't pre-walked it for the group and we discover the route together, which I thought might be fun :-) I have a route, directions and a map, so how hard can it be (famous last words!).

New Alresford is not very new at all, in fact it was 'new' in 1200 when the Bishop of Winchester wanted to expand Alresford. Today it is one of Hampshire's most picturesque towns with Georgian architecture, notably along sumptuous Broad Street, which is lined with lime trees and elegant colour-washed houses.

Please come along and join me to discover this new area, passing the lost medieval village of Abbotstone, Old Alresford and the watercress beds. Drinks at a pub in the town afterwards.
