Book Club - A Psalm for the Wild-Built
Details
Calling all Becky Chambers lovers! We're reading A Psalm for the Wild-Built, the first in what is currently a duology. I'm not sure if it's intended to be more than that. If you're unsure who Becky Chambers is, she wrote The Wayfarers series that we started in February of 2023 with The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet. This month's book is the start of Monk & Robot, and won the 2022 Hugo for Best Novella. It's just a 4 hour audiobook, because December is often a busy month for many of us.
A reminder that we'll be picking January's book at the November meeting, and we've traditionally picked a longer book for January. Come with your suggestions!

Summary:
It's been centuries since the robots of Panga gained self-awareness and laid down their tools; centuries since they wandered, en masse, into the wilderness, never to be seen again; centuries since they faded into myth and urban legend.
One day, the life of a tea monk is upended by the arrival of a robot, there to honor the old promise of checking in. The robot cannot go back until the question of "what do people need?" is answered.
But the answer to that question depends on who you ask, and how.
They're going to need to ask it a lot.
Becky Chambers's new series asks: in a world where people have what they want, does having more matter?
