BIKE RIDE Casey Key with Legacy Trail (23 miles) + BRUNCH @ Pop's Sunset Grill

Let's start the New Year with some exercise like we did the past years!

Join us for a casual bike ride to Casey Key with brunch at Pop's Sunset Grill in Nokomis.

Meeting point is the parking lot of Walmart at 13140 S Tamiami Trail (southern end facing Bay Acres Ave).

We will ride through some neighborhoods to Casey Key, check if Stephen King is at home and make our way south to North Jetty Park. We can then walk out to the jetty and enjoy the view of the nearby beach.

After our stop we will head over to Pop's Sunset Grill for brunch at approximately 10:30 AM.
Pop's is one of the iconic Old Florida waterfront dining places with a Tiki Bar and a large outdoor deck overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway.

After brunch we will return a different way and end up riding parts of the Legacy Trail back to the starting point.

This is supposed to be a social event, so please have enough time and don't schedule anything right after. Brunch might take longer that day, it is fair to assume that Pop's will be very busy. Remember that they don't take reservations but we will call ahead anyway to speed up the process.

We will ride on sidewalks, roads and a multi-use trail. Speed will be 10 to 12 miles/hour. Safety lights are appreciated. Don't forget to wear sunscreen and bring along your bike lock and sufficient water.
