Explore hidden Myakka River State Park - Casual hike (10 miles +)

Let's get adventurous and join us for a casual hike along several trails within the hidden and less traveled section of Myakka River State Park. We will bring along maps, the group will decide where to go, at least during parts of the hike. Total distance will be 10 miles +, depending on the route we choose. Expect the hike to last 5 hours including breaks.

Trails should be fairly dry. Please wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen, a head cover and bring along sufficient water and a snack.

This will be a social event and no race.

We will meet within the Myakka River State Park at the Power Line Road parking lot (about 2 miles into the park) at around 08:50 AM and leave at 09:00 AM sharp.

Expect to pay $6 entrance fee per vehicles with 2-8 people or $4 for a single occupant vehicle, unless you have an annual Florida State Park Pass.
