What we’re about

Established in 2006, we are book-lovers who meet monthly in the Sydney CBD
We usually meet the first week of the month, on Mondays or Tuesdays from 6:30pm to discuss this month's book and chat about other books we've read.
Most members are 30-55 years and enjoy reading a variety of books, including fiction, non-fiction and book-to-film adaptions. The group jointly selects books to read every six months. To keep members costs down, we generally favour books readily available in public libraries or second hand bookshops. Though we do read new release if it comes highly recommended.
While primarily a bookclub, we host Sunday brunch catch ups a couple of times per year & occasionally go to the movies or see plays together.

2024/2025 book discussions include:
* Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong bookshop (Hwang Bo-Reum)
* Before the coffee gets cold (Toshikazu Kawaguchi)
* All that's left unsaid (Tracey Lien)
* Birnam Wood (Eleanor Catton)

2023/2024 book discussions included:
* Reputation (Sarah Vaughan)
* The Bookbinder of Jericho (Pip Williams)
* Aue (Becky Manawatu)
* Lessons in Chemistry (Bonnie Garmus)
* Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow (Gabrielle Zevin)
* Demon Copperhead (Barbara Kingsolver)
* Wifedom: Mrs. Orwell's Invisible Life' (Anna Funder)
