What we’re about
We are a group of people generally exploring ideas from a right wing perspective which may include conservative, classical liberal or libertarian perspectives.
Our group will meet together with a presentation and discussion of relevant books or articles by key thinkers past and present including guest speakers on occasion. We may also focus on a particular issue, although we are not a political action group. No prior knowledge or political leaning is necessary, only genuine good faith inquiry and willingness to engage in civil discourse about these ideas.
Meetings will be live around the Sydney CBD area. And feel free to join our sister group, the Sydney Conservative Social & Discussion Forum which is more about socially connecting through attending other events.

See all- The Misinformation Bill - A Threat to Democracy?Shakespeare Hotel, Surry Hills
The Institute for Public Affairs has described the Communications Legislation Amendment (Combatting Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill 2024 now before Parliament as one of the most offensive bills to the values of freedom of speech and liberal democracy that the Commonwealth parliament has introduced in the nation’s peacetime history. If they are right, this is a very serious moment for Australians.
We will discuss the Bill, who is supporting and opposing it and why and help attendees reach their own conclusions.
You can find the detail of the Bill here and the Senate inquiry here which includes submissions from the Institute of Public Affairs among many others some supportive some dead against.
You can watch Quilette founding editor Clair Lehmann discussing the bill here
