What we’re about
NOTE - this is a dedicated group for like-minded people to talk alternative music and see live bands. If you are joining just to go to our restaurant meetups, please consider joining my other group Sydney Over 30’s Restaurant Lovers instead.
Did you stop clubbing years ago (or still even go) and miss having conversations with people who get your alternative music and cultural references? Wish you had someone to go and see live music and events with?
If you were/are in an alternative subculture or just a Alt music lover, whether it be punk, goth, grunge, alternative, indie, industrial, rockabilly, new wave, hard rock, metal, britpop - whatever, then join us for gigs, dinners, drinks and movies.
Check out our INSTA PAGE with vids and pics of previous and upcoming events
Suggestions always welcome - feel free to comment on the main page.
Note I go to most, but not all events, but I like to post up events and gigs I think people are interested in. If I’m not attending I will indicate this.
Rules n' stuff
Please only RSVP if you intend to come. No shows mean that people on the waitlist don't get to go and it's often embarrassing to explain to the restaurants in particular that we are down in numbers. No shows who don't make contact with me will be removed from the group.
This is a diverse group, so please show respect to everyone and respect members privacy.

- IDLES - Hordern PavillonHordern Pavilion , Sydney
PLEASE PURCHASE YOUR OWN TICKET VIA TICKETEK
Please join me in seeing British band IDLES at the hordern pavillion.
“Idles' music has been described as punk rock, post-punk,hardcore punk,post-hardcore, and art rock.Talbot rejected the punk label;in 2017, he said: "We're not a post punk band. I guess we have that motorik, engine-like drive in the rhythm section that some post punk bands have, but we have plenty of songs that aren't like that at all."
“British rock outfit IDLES will make their highly-anticipated return to Australia and New Zealand in support of their new album, TANGK.
TANGK is the righteous and vibrant fifth album from madcap truth-seekers, IDLES. Pronounced “tank” with a whiff of the “g” - an onomatopoeic reference to the lashing way the band imagined their guitars sounding that has since grown into a sigil for living in love - the record is the band’s most ambitious and striking work yet. Where IDLES were once set on taking the world’s piss, squaring off with strong jaws against the perennially entitled, and exercising personal trauma in real time, they have arrived in this new act to offer the fruits of such perseverance: love, joy, and indeed gratitude for the mere opportunity of existence.
IDLES’ 2025 tour of Australia & New Zealand will see the band play their biggest headline shows across the region, with dates in Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.”
