SSP Friday - Fire and Flow Jam

Join us at Camperdown Park (Mallet St) near the restrooms for a fun-filled night of fire (or LEDs), friends, and fabulous music!
Be respectful of the park and clean up after yourself.
Be welcoming to everyone.

*In case of Total Fire Ban - they will switch to LEDs only.
*Photographers are welcome!
*DJs are also welcome.
*In case of rain - the event will be cancelled. We don't want to damage the sports field so even light rain may result in cancellation.

SSP spin
An opportunity to try slow shutter speed style with flash or low level video light to match fire sticks and faces or even better, the ambient light

What to bring:
camera + flash &/or adjustable brightness video light plus tripod/monopod.
Focal length 24 to 50mm work best, f/2.8 or faster is even better but you may find long exposures give the best results.
The term flow is used to describe the light from the fire during the performance so usually get better results with a monopod or using Image Stabilisation to steady the camera and get the flow of firelight in the image.

As we are guests, the performers may ask for a copy of some images. Please be generous and offer images or ask the performers if they want to see the images after their performance.

NOTE: this event will involve fire on rotating sticks & fuel. For your safety, YOU MUST FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE ORGANISERS & EVENT PERFORMERS.
