What we’re about
Systemic Constellation is a powerful therapeutic methodology for exploring and resolving issues across a wide spectrum of applications such as family, relationships, friendship, work, health or creativity.
Modern psychology recognises that many of our challenges do not originate in our own personal history, but instead are rooted and influenced by the experiences of those who came before us. Emergent psychological theories acknowledge that the unresolved traumas of our ancestors can impact us in the here and now and can manifest for example as negative patterns, unhelpful dynamics, limiting behaviour, health problems or a sense of being stuck.
Systemic Constellations is a phenomeological approach that takes these transgenerational elements into account when exploring an issue. This gives the opportunity for deeper and wider exploration of interconnections.
During a Constellation we might use people or floor markers to represent elements of the issue, e.g. a person, an event, a location etc... By using representatives, an interactive live map of the issue emerges through which the issue holder can gain insight into the problem. Resolution is sought first by acknowledging what appears, and then by remedying this with resolving statements or movements until an optimal sense of ease and acceptance is experienced by all participants.
Testimonials:
- “What a pleasant surprise to discover Constellations in the City hidden inside St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation. It felt like entering another world in which I was wrapped in a warm but discreet welcome. Of the constellation workshops I have participated in this one stood out for depth and gentleness of the work and the confident humility of the practitioners. I continue to feel the pleasant reverberations and look forward to attending another workshop soon”.
Ellen . Counsellor & Psychotherapist - “These workshops have been deeply impactful for me.
I look forward to attending and experiencing the evening's unfoldments each time, and I am not disappointed. I always go home with a feeling of having spent my time well, and feeling nourished.
The space is well held, the people are kind, gentle and generous with their attention and energy.
This is a powerful method of accessing deeply rooted beliefs and habits, a must try for those on the fence.”
Kadi. Counsellor - “City Constellations has brought insight and compassion to my wounded past. I am deeply grateful for this resource which I can access so freely. I particularly feel the relevance of this work in the centre of the City. Thank you.” Lorna . Psychotherapist
