Last time we wound up being entranced by the US Presidential Debate (which was on Tuesday September 10) so we agreed that we would postpone THIS topic to THIS time!

There are several definitions for "power" and tonight we will be discussing a few of them!

---Political Power---

1. The accusation can be made that the Republican Party under Donald Trump is focused solely on retaining power rather than governing. Discuss!
2. Did the Supreme Court grant too much power to the presidency in its 2024 "Presidential Immunity" ruling? Why or why not?
3. It the quest for power inspired by insecurity? Why or why not?
4. Should ALL political campaigns be solely publicly funded? Why or why not?
5. Can politics ever realistically be separated from power? Why or why not?
   ---Military Power---
6. Has Israel's response to the Hamas attack in October 2023 been appropriate? Why or why not?
7. If asked, should Canada become involved as Peace Keepers in Gaza? Why or why not?
8. Do you think that China will invade Taiwan within the next decade? Why or why not?
9. Who do you think will "win" the war in Ukraine? Why?
10. Is there a way to solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict (in the broader sense)? If so, what is it and why? If not, why not?
    ---Electrical Power---
11. What are the benefits of migrating to renewable energy sources?
12. What are the downsides of reliance on renewable energy sources?
13. What do you think is the best and the worst renewable energy source? Why?
14. Would you consider buying an Electric Vehicle (EV)? Why or why not?
15. Would you consider having an EV as your ONLY vehicle? Why or why not?
16. If internal combustion engine (ICE) cars are completely phased out, will we have enough electrical energy to power all of the EVs? Why or why not?
17. Do you think that Canada's electrical grid is sufficiently robust? Why or why not?
    ---Random---
18. What do you consider your greatest "power"? Why?
19. Would you want to have a "super power"? If so, what and why? If not, why not?
20. If only one superhero could exist, who should it be and why?
