Noted for its mining activities, Quicksilver County Park is a 135 year-old California landmark area. With more than 4,000 acres, the park attracts hikers and outdoor lovers of all kinds.
Heading up to Catherine's Tunnel on this 8 mile out and back (with a small loop near the top) moderate hike, -/+ 1,224 feet elevation. Visiting a couple of historic mining sites on the way.
Mostly shaded. Rain does not cancel hike. Lunch afterwards at Aqui's on Curtner Ave.
Please bring water, good shoes and snacks as needed.
RULES:
- The hike will start ten minutes after the meeting time.
- Stop at all trail junctions.
- Do not leave the hike without advising the leader/leaders first.
- Please leave bad attitudes at home!
