What we’re about

Insight (vipassana) meditation cultivates our natural wisdom and compassion. Meditation practice develops concentration, which allows us to calm and steady the mind. Learn to meditate or deepen your meditation practice in a warm, kind, and supportive community. We meditate together and explore diverse aspects of insight meditation and related practices. This class includes a 30-minute guided meditation, a dharma (teaching), and time for sharing and discussion.

This class, rooted in the teachings of the Buddha and led by teachers of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, supports students in finding steady peace and open-heartedness amidst the stresses of life. The teachers share teaching responsibilities, and each teaches about once a month.
