Club Meeting: Thanksgiving Potluck

Next Club Meeting: Thanksgiving Potluck, November 21st
Our next club meeting will be held on Thursday, November 21st. For the last couple of years, the Tarwheels have held an annual Potluck dinner in the weeks before Thanksgiving in order to enjoy each other’s company over a communal meal and to celebrate the wind down of the cycling season. We will meet at the usual time, 6:00PM, at the New Hope Volunteer Fire Department Station #1 at 4012 Whitfield Road in Chapel Hill.

Please use the Signup Sheet to indicate what you plan to bring. Please that each slot is for a quantity of 1 and to indicate in more detail what you are planning to bring and roughly for how many people.
As usual, we will not be using the kitchen for cooking, so bring your contribution ready to go. You may bring your favorite libation, such as wine or beer. Volunteers for setup (starting around 5:30PM) and cleanup would be appreciated.

Our speaker will be Ann Groninger, the North Carolina Bike Law attorney. Ann has been a full-time bicycle lawyer for over 15 years and was one of the creators and the first network lawyer for Bike Law, a national network of cycling attorneys. She is also the author of the recently updated book on North Carolina Cycling law, “Ride Guide (BLB #1: North Carolina Bicycle Laws, Second Edition)" which is a clear exposition of your rights and responsibilities as a cyclist in the state. Much has changed since Ann last spoke to the Tarwheels. An avid cyclist, Ann has ridden a bicycle everywhere she has lived (North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Michigan, Louisiana) and around the world (Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Chile, Nepal). This is sure to be a timely presentation and informative discussion.
