3rd annual A-20 Awards Banquet, Haw River Tap & Table, 12/14 @ 4:00pm
It's time for the 3rd annual Tarwheels A-20 awards "banquet". Please join us at Haw River Tap & Table in Carrboro, Saturday December 14 starting at 4:00 PM.

Together we have logged over 1 million rotations of pedals over the past year of Saturday rides. In the course of 1 million + pedal strokes, some riders "good fortune" has led to them deserving notable recognition, hence this banquet is back out of necessity. It's also a good excuse to get a pint glass in the hand.

Awards will be announced at 5:00 PM. Bonus award if you recognize everyone in their street clothes. Remember if you can't make it and you were supposed to get an award then you won't.

Mark your calendar now! This event is open to all of our "regulars", defined as, anyone who rode the A-20 Saturday ride once with at least the intent to do it again.

What to expect:

  • Ride length of ~60 miles, occasionally shorter/longer, at 20-21 mph
  • Max group size of 22. If there are more than that we will divide into two groups before the start. (Group 1 will be at the upper range of the target pace with significant efforts at the designated segments, Group 2 will start a few minutes later and will not be quite as intense.)
  • Double paceline ride with friendly and relaxed attitude/conversation
  • 10-15 minute stop along the way for hydration, fuel, and socializing
  • A few friendly and competitive "go hard" segments with a regroup at designated spots. (However, not a no-drop ride)
  • Post ride continue the social/beverage option

RSVP is required for all riders who either start at WP or plan to join the ride on the road.

Your responsibility as part of the group is to RSVP and supply your own cue sheet or download the GPS file.

If you plan to join the ride in progress, please leave a comment below about where we can expect to meet you.

It is Tarwheels policy for all riders to sign the ride waiver before coming out to the ride.
