'I am reading this assumption of risk form/statement in relation to my wishes to participate within a class, activity, course, seminar, grading, competition, training session or lesson provided by Team Shark Muay Thai and any of Team Shark Muay Thai registered instructors, coaches or staff. I confirm that I understand in full that any activity in which I participate will carry inherent risks associated with any practice or competition within combat arts, martial arts or self defence. Furthermore, I understand that the risk of serious injury is present and I have been briefed on the relevant safety rules and regulations in place to help protect me and my fellow students during training.
I confirm that I understand the nature of the activity in which I am about to participate, and appreciate that any practice of combat, self defence or martial art usually includes a degree of martial arts based fitness training. With this in mind, I can agree that I am fit to participate and agree to assume all risks associated with the above, hereby withdrawing any liability from the named club, instructors, association or other relevant parties.
Should I be unclear on any risks involved, or not feel comfortable releasing the above named from all positions of liability, I will not agree to this document/statement. SCHOOL RULES & CLASS ETIQUETTE
• Safety is our number one concern. If you have any concerns over your safety or the safety of another, alert an instructor immediately.
• Monitor your own personal hygiene and ensure you are clean and fresh when you turn up for class. No one enjoys breathing in bad body odour.
• Jewellery, watches and any body piercings are to be removed or securely taped over to prevent injury to another.
• Never attempt to do any exercise, technique or movement that you are not confident and comfortable completing.
• You should only train at your own pace and communicate any injuries or restrictions with your training partner(s).
• It is your responsibility to ensure you turn up to class fit and ready to take part, with a suitable amount of time prior to the lesson’s scheduled start time.
• If you have any injury or medical condition you should let the instructor know ahead of the class.
• If you develop any injuries during a class, you should let the instructor know so they may complete an injury record and administer first aid accordingly.
• Any bad attitude, abusive, disruptive or anti-social behavior will not be tolerated.
• The instructor(s) has the ultimate say as to whether they feel you are fit to train or whether a rule has been broken.
If you are unsure about any of the above, you should contact your instructor before taking part and discuss any concerns or questions with them. These rules may be updated from time to time; it is your responsibility to ensure you’re up to date with the latest'
ATTENDANCE & LATENESS
There is no obligation or pressure to attend any of the classes, YOU choose which classes you want to go to, you're in full control of your membership. Please ensure you use the Shark Meetup App to RSVP into the class, and don't forget to UN-RSVP if you can no longer make it, no matter if its last minute.
Lateness is not a problem, we all have busy work/home lives. Just slide into the class when you do arrive so you don't disrupt the lesson, BUT be mindful that missing the warm-up and stretching exercises increases risk of injury. It is advised you always warm-up and stretch prior to any physical activity.
