This even may be as much about visiting Leavenworth as it is doing the Icicle Gorge Nature Loop. The trail is quite easy and I've only done it in the summer but have heard that I should give it a try in the winter as well. Spikes may be required at this time of the year. Whatever the case, a stop-off in Leavenworth for some hot cider, or chocolate, will be in order along with a bite to eat.

One might think that a long drive for only a 4.2-mile, looped trail with only 150 feet of elevation gain would just be too much, so a nice stop in Leavenworth is a perfect way to make for a fantastic day trip on the last Sunday before Thanksgiving. This will also be our only event for the week so I thought that a great day trip with friends would be a nice way to celebrate the season.

I'll watch the weather reports and if it's simply just too snowy and icy then we'll do something else. Usually, this is a doable trip at this time of the year but it can be quite chilly so dress warmly with hats, gloves, coats, and something warm in your thermos. Since the road is long and the trail short, I'll likely grab a snack in the parking lot before we start to tie me over until we get into Leavenworth.

We will meet in the north parking lot of the Green Lake Park and Ride next to the bus stop on the north side of 65th and directly under I-5 at 7 am. Since we are heading east along Highway 2 we can also stop at the Monroe McDonalds around 7:45 am to either pick up additional riders or further coordinate rideshares. Rideshare for the day is $35 per person from Green Lake Park and Ride and $27 from the Monroe McDonalds and is paid to the driver of the vehicle.

Our estimated time of arrival at the trailhead is: 10:00 am
Yes, there are two separate fees regarding this event. The event fee is $15, and then rideshare if you are riding as a passenger with a driver.

Sorry, no doggies are allowed at any Tenderfoot Adventures events as per our insurance policy. We all love our fur babies, and I am sure that yours is amazing as well but alas there are no doggies allowed at any of our events.
