What we’re about

Palm Beach County Tennis Meetup welcomes players of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced intermediates. Everyone is encouraged to join, and all have a great time playing and meeting new people.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST BE 16 YEARS OR OLDER TO JOIN THIS GROUP!
YOU SHOULD BRING YOUR OWN RACQUETS AND BALLS.
WE PLAY ON PUBLIC COURTS, SO THERE MAY SOMETIMES BE A WAIT.

New Members: It is your responsibility to introduce yourself to the host and/or other members. While not required, it would be wise to include a picture in your profile. If you have any questions about conditions or preferences, ask the host of the location you are attending, as they may vary. If a host is not available, please coordinate with fellow players.

We are also planning to develop tennis clinics to help both beginners and advanced players improve their skills. If you are new to tennis and want to learn, you can attend our free clinics or schedule a lesson with our designated coach. Please note that private lessons may not be free and are a private matter between you and the coach.

If you are already a 3.0 player or above, come out and give it a try! If you’ve just moved to Palm Beach County and already play tennis, join us for competitive and fun matches.

If anyone knows of free courts and is ready to be a host, please don’t hesitate to DM me!

If you do not know your NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) skill level, here are the guidelines to help you find your place among players of similar abilities. The U.S. Tennis Association developed the NTRP rating system, which is the most accurate rating system available. Player levels are based on a scale from 1.0 to 7.0, but our divisions are based on levels from 2.0 to 5.0:

1.0: Just starting to play tennis.
1.5: Limited experience, primarily working on getting the ball into play.
2.0: Needs on-court experience. Has obvious stroke weaknesses but knows basic positions for singles and doubles play.
2.5: Learning to judge where the ball is going, although court coverage is weak. Can sustain a short rally at a slow pace with players of the same ability.
3.0: Fairly consistent with medium-paced shots but uncomfortable with all strokes. Lacks execution for directional control, depth, or power. Common doubles formation is one-up and one-back.
3.5: Improved stroke dependability and directional control on moderate shots, but still lacks depth and variety. Starting to show more aggressive net play, has improved court coverage, and is developing teamwork in doubles.
4.0: Dependable strokes with directional control and depth on moderate shots. Can use lobs, overheads, approach shots, and volleys with some success. Occasionally forces errors when serving; teamwork in doubles is evident. Rallies may be lost due to impatience.
4.5: Starting to master power and spins, handles pace well, has sound footwork, can control shot depth, and is beginning to vary shots.
Join us and enjoy improving your tennis skills!
