SESSIONS
Join us for any of these sessions that are convenient for you:
- "Night Cap," Wednesdays @ 8 p.m. @ Highland Park, for players who are rated 2.5 or higher. This session focuses on higher-level drills, match scenarios, and match play for current and aspiring league players.
- "Taking Up Tennis," Thursdays, 8 p.m. and Saturdays, 11 a.m., @ Highland Park, for beginners and newer players. The sessions feature encouraging drills, scenarios, and play to help beginning and newer players develop their skills and knowledge of tennis.
- "Doubles Trouble," Sundays @ 2 p.m. @ Highland Park is designed for league players, rated 2.5, 3.0, and higher who want to advance their knowledge and skills through higher-level drills, scenarios, and match play that simulates league matches.
- "Boot Camp," held periodically, is a special, three-hour training program for intermediate and advanced players. Attendance is limited, and training is focused on shotmaking, hitting targets, court positioning, and match play.
- Individual and group lessons are offered upon request.
- Team coaching is available upon request.
ABOUT ME
- Rusty Jabour
- United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) certified Tennis Instructor
- Has played in leagues for 25 years, winning at district and state levels, and competing in numerous state, sectional, and charity tournaments
- Co-creator and Co-chair of the popular "Hallowheel" charity tennis tournament
- Former President (2023 and 2012) of the Greater Baton Rouge Community Tennis Association (GBRCTA)
- Former Louisiana Tennis Association (LTA) Board member
- Former Vice Chair of USTA Southern Marketing Committee
- Recipient of 2017 Service Award, Baton Rouge Women's Tennis Association
- Recipient of LTA's Volunteer of the Year award in 2012
- Created the weekly "HPTA 2.0" program for adult beginners (2021)
- Created the "Tennis with Rusty!" program for adult players of all levels
