Details

Light is the left hand of darkness
and darkness the right hand of light.
Two are one, life and death, lying
together like lovers in kemmer,
like hands joined together,
like the end and the way.
(Ursula K Le Guin, Left Hand of Darkness)

Two hundred years ago, the kingdom of Kottsbildt stood resplendent in harmony with man and dragon alike, and two hundred years ago, the first fire from the belly of the Earth rose and struck Kottsbildt down.

What's left? What's ever left, when a civilization dies? Legend? Myth? People trying so very damn hard to survive?

Kottsdam, the volcanic crater atol upon which the Kingdom of Kottsbildt once stood, has become a string of cultures, a liminal space of city states struggling against an entropy that would lead them otherwise to extinction. Their only true goal? To live. To survive. For those with adventuring minds, though -- for those willing to romance the unknown, the secrets of the death of civilization, the secrets of the universe, remain to be discovered in the undergrowth of the beautiful and ordinary.

What will you choose to be?

---

This will be a short Ryuutama adventure that takes place on the atoll of Kotsdamm, a ring island of displaced city states trying to survive a massive volcanic disruption that occured two hundred years ago.

Session 0, the current scheduled session will be character creation and used to further flesh out the environment. Sessions 1-8 will be the adventure. I aim to wrap up a short story for characters no matter what in 8 sessions. Games will be roughly every other week during this Thursday time slot, played on Discord with voice, and possibly the use of another VTT tool (either Roll20 or Alchemy).

Please join the Terrifying Tabletop server if you RSVP and mention who you are and that you've done so! Especially if this is your first game. If I cannot get in touch with you within 3-7 days of your RSVP, I will change it to not attending. Please, please communicate.

Thank you!
