What we’re about
If you already know what AOSP and AAOS are, then this meetup is for you. If not, then maybe come along and find out
AOSP is the Android Open Source Project. It is the code base of the Android operating system. All Android devices (all 3 billion of them) are running AOSP
AAOS is the Android Automotive OS, which is the version of Android designed to run in the infotainment systems of cars. AAOS is also open source – in fact it is part of AOSP
The AOSP and AAOS Meetup aims to build a community of developers working with these open source technologies. It provides a forum for talking about building, developing and testing products based on AOSP. We exchange information about developing with AOSP: tricks and tips; best practice; pitfalls; new features; ways to solve common problems; and anything else that comes to mind
Meetings are held every two months, starting in March 2022 (so in 2023, that is January, March, May, July, September, and November). Each meeting is 2 hours, starting with 10 minutes meet and greet, followed by two or three talks of up to 20 minutes each on any topics that we find interesting, followed by time for networking. Since AOSP and AAOS developers are scattered over a wide area, this is an online meetup
You can see the slides and videos of talks held at past meetings at https://aospandaaos.github.io/
We have a Slack workspace for discussions
Input is welcome from all members of the group – in fact I am relying on your ideas, otherwise this is not going to work. Can be as informal or informal as you like: slides, demos, discussions
