What we’re about
The Art of Mindful Relating™ is a workshop designed to facilitate connection, communication, and relationship. The principles and practices described in this workshop can improve relationships of all kinds and in various contexts. These include friendships, family relationships, romantic relationships, work relationships, and one’s relationship to the community. It isn’t focused on conflict resolution or nonviolent communication, per se, although it can be helpful in both these areas as well.
Why I Created this Workshop
I’ve created this workshop to facilitate rewarding interpersonal connections, reduce loneliness and isolation, and improve understanding.
The content of this workshop derives from my personal experience as a human being who has related to other human beings over the course of a lifetime, sometimes well, sometimes not. Some of it also comes from experiencing a good amount of group therapy and reading about what makes relationships thrive and what doesn’t. In particular, the work of Drs. John & Julie Gottman and David Brooks has been influential.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a therapist and am not offering any form of therapy. I am only offering my insights and life experience in the hope that they are of value to others. I don’t fancy myself a relationship guru; I’m as interested as anyone in enhancing my ability to relate to others. I hope to gain as much from this workshop as you do.
NOTE: This workshop is held in English only. All native or non-native English speakers are welcome.
