What we’re about
A COMMUNITY FOR ARTISTIC AND CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY.
Welcome to The Art of Photography International! Our purpose is to spark creativity, open new doors, incite discussion and learn from each other in a positive and sharing environment. The program is designed to facilitate the merging of the principles of art and graphic design with excellent camera craft. To take each one of us no matter what level of experience to places, levels and worlds that are out of our comfort zone. Our critique programs, our photo shoots and our educational sessions are free. Your submissions for discussion are for you to choose without regard to theme or genre.
The Art Of Photography began as a Museum Art School program in 2002 and has expanded to over 14,000 members worldwide, so many of whom have grown into exceptional photographers that are hugely represented in international award shows. We are truly excited for your participation and look forward to your development as Fine Art Photographers.

Join your fellow photographers and art enthusiasts for a special exhibition at the NSU Museum of Art. The work of photographer Joel Meyerowitz will be featured at the museum for this Challenge Event. Meyerowitz’s skill is evident in both the full, visceral descriptions of his color photographs, and the graphic and human subtleties of his black-and-white prints.
Located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, the NSU Museum of Art is considered a hub of the South Florida Art Coast, situated midway between Miami and Palm Beach. Its distinctive modernist building, which opened in 1986 was designed by the renowned architect Edward Larrabee Barnes. The 83,000 square-foot building contains 25,000 square feet of exhibition space, a 256-seat auditorium, Museum Store and Cafe. The museum is located in Fort Lauderdale’s active Arts and Entertainment District and is a short walk to the shops, restaurants and galleries of vibrant Las Olas Boulevard as well as to the picturesque Riverwalk waterfront promenade.
Besides the photography of Joel Meyerowitz, the museum will feature the work of painter Peter Halley, along with its celebrated permanent collection. The permanent collection contains more than 7,500 works of Latin American, contemporary art with an emphasis on women, Black and Latinx artists, and African art that spans the 19th to the 21st-century. Among its highlights is the country’s largest collection of 19th and early 20th century paintings and drawings by the American impressionist William Glackens, the most extensive holding in the U.S. of works by post-World War II, avant-garde CoBrA artists (acronym for Copenhagen, Brussels and Amsterdam) who resisted German occupation during World War II and emerged in the war’s wake.
