**Join me for the 9th of my**
***"12 Walks of Christmas"* 🎄⛄❄️** 🎅👍😎 ***2024"*.**

**THE WALK 🌄**

* Join me, Simon-C on a 7.0 Miles, 3 Boot walk.
* Walking through open fields, hills & valleys, woods & country lanes & over a river or two.
* Walking time 3.5 hrs approx. + lunch & Pub stop so about **4.5 hrs ish depending how we go.**
* Lowest point: - 201 feet,
* Highest point: - 420 feet
* **Total ascent (Up's & down's):- 823 feet.**

**START TIME & PLACE ⌚**

* Starting at 10:30am, **WALKING BOOTS on** 🥾🥾👍 ready to go.
* Please don't be late & keep us waiting for you 👌.
* Meeting in the **PAY & Display** Car Park north of Castle Combe, Upper Castle Combe, Chippenham SN14 7HH.

**VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ FOR BACKMARKING**
I am looking for some volunteers to help with the important task of "Backmarking" (helping keep the group together), your help would be much appreciated by the group.

**PARKING 🚗**
Parking available in the **PAY AND DISPLAY Car Park** north of Castle Combe, Upper Castle Combe, Chippenham SN14 7HH.

**LUNCH 🥪**
Stopping halfway round the walk for lunch, please bring a pack lunch.
Also remember to bring enough water for the duration of the walk.

**PUB STOP 🍺 or ☕ maybe 🤔**

* We will be stopping at The White Hart at Ford on the walk.
* Please don't eat your lunch in the Pub as it's not the done thing, thanks.

**DOGS 🐕**

* Well behaved Dogs & owners **ARE WELCOME** on this walk but may need to be put on a lead near roads, livestock and as asked to by the walk leader.
* **So, this walk is DOG FRIENDLY** 👌.

**WEATHER 🌞**

* If bad weather is forecast, the walk will be cancelled the day before.
* Unless dreadful weather on the morning of the walk, then the walk will be cancelled by 8 am.
* **PLEASE CHECK THE EVENT DETAILS ON THE WEBSITE, BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR THE WALK.**

**VOLUNTARY DONATIONS**

* We will be asking for a voluntary small donation (suggested 20p) on this walk to go towards paying for the running of the group, (franchise cost).

**Boot rating for walks: -**

* **1 Boot** \- For all walkers\. Mainly flat surfaces\, minimal ascents & descents\, around 4 miles on well\-defined paths\.
* **2 Boot** \- Suitable for most walkers\. Small ascents and descents 4\-6 miles typically\, in countryside on rough paths\.
* **3 Boot** \- For regular walkers\. One or more steep ascents/descents 6\-8 miles on rough terrain\.
* **4 Boot** \- Suitable for strong walkers\. Hilly terrain\, with steep/long ascents/descents\. More than 8 miles\. e\.g\.\, Brecon Beacons or Mendips\.
* **5 Boot** \- Suitable for strong walkers\. Hilly terrain\, with steep/long ascents/descents\, often on loose terrain\. More than 10 miles in challenging terrain \(e\.g\.\, Snowdon or Pen\-y\-fan\)\.
