**Join me for the 11th of my**
***"12 Walks of Christmas"* 🎄⛄❄️** 🎅👍😎 ***2024"*.**

**THE WALK 🌄**

* Join me for a 7.6 mile, 3 boot circular walk from Biddestone to Ford and back, through woodland, open countryside & country lanes.
* There are some steep ascents & descents, can & may well be muddy if wet, walking poles would be useful if you have them for some parts of the walk.
* Approx. 3.25 hours walking time.
* Lunch 30 minutes.
* Pub stop 30 minutes.
* Estimated total time approx. 4.25 hours.
* Though it could be longer depending on how we go and how long we stop, so could probably more like 4.5 hours.
* Lowest point: - 74 feet,
* Highest point: - 435 feet
* Total ascent (Up's & down's): - 1612 feet

**VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ FOR BACKMARKING**

* I am looking for some volunteers to help with the important task of "Back marking" (helping keep the group together), your help would be much appreciated by the group.

**START TIME & PLACE ⌚**

* Starting at **10:30am, WALKING BOOTS on 🥾🥾👍 ready to go,** (hopefully), please don't be late.
* We will be meeting on "The Green" to the right of "The White Horse" The Green, Biddestone, Chippenham SN14 7DG
* **PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE NO TOILETS AT THE START OF THE WALK OR ON THE WAY ROUND.**

**PARKING 🚗**

* Parking is available on the main and side streets, please park considerately 👌.

**LUNCH 🥪**

* Stopping halfway round the walk for lunch, please bring a pack lunch.
* Please remember to bring enough water for the duration of the walk.

**PUB STOP 🍺 or ☕ maybe 🤔**

* We will be stopping at "The White Hart" for refreshments.
* Please don't eat your lunch in the Pub as it's not the done thing, thanks.

**DOGS 🐕**

* Well behaved Dogs & owners **ARE WELCOME** on this walk but may need to be put on a lead near roads, livestock and as asked to by the walk leader.
* So, this walk is **DOG FRIENDLY 👌.**

**WEATHER 🌞**

* If bad weather is forecast, the walk will be cancelled the day before, unless dreadful weather in the morning then it will be cancelled by 8 am,
* **PLEASE CHECK ON THE DAY BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR THE WALK.**

**VOLUNTARY DONATIONS**

* We will be asking for a voluntary small donation (suggested 20p) on this walk to go towards paying for the running of the group, (franchise cost).

* **1 Boot** \- For all walkers\. Mainly flat surfaces\, minimal ascents & descents\, around 4 miles on well\-defined paths\.
* **2 Boot** \- Suitable for most walkers\. Small ascents and descents 4\-6 miles typically\, in countryside on rough paths\.
* **3 Boot** \- For regular walkers\. One or more steep ascents/descents 6\-8 miles on rough terrain\.
* **4 Boot** \- Suitable for strong walkers\. Hilly terrain\, with steep/long ascents/descents\. More than 8 miles\. e\.g\.\, Brecon Beacons or Mendips\.
* **5 Boot** \- Suitable for strong walkers\. Hilly terrain\, with steep/long ascents/descents\, often on loose terrain\. More than 10 miles in challenging terrain \(e\.g\.\, Snowdon or Pen\-y\-fan\)\.
